[official website for the forgotten future W1 album]
The music of forgotten future is about layers and emotions. The aim of this experience is to give you the opportunity to discover dozens upon dozens of layers, each full of intricate details, for every scene of the W1 journey. Not only you will encounter philosophical and aesthetic links between the visuals, sonics and emotional ingredients, you'll also be able to create your own mix of them.
Use the faders on the left to inject sonic, musical, visual and emotional subtleties into the music and the artwork. Get lost in discovering new details for your philosophical endeavors. Or, keep it minimal and create an ambient soundtrack as the sonic backdrop for your evening in the exhibition view — the experience is yours to shape.
forgotten future is the moniker and concept of platinum-album electronic music- and film composer Julius Dobos (of Connecting Images, Mountain Flying, ElectroScapes, DragonBall Z, Don't Mess with the Zohan, MallCop, NCIS, etc.).
As one of the prominent psybient / epic ambient acts of today, forgotten future creates organic electronic music with driving rhythmic patterns, unique soundscapes featuring a multitude of carefully crafted sonic layers, cutting edge sound design, evoking strong emotions, memories with minimalist yet haunting melodies, rich textures – and taking the listener on a musical journey through time, space & new dimensions.
forgotten future is more than music. It is a system of beliefs, an expression of convictions, a mindset; essentially a way of living and a way of thinking about life & beyond.

forgotten future brings a performance to the stage that goes far beyond a typical dj set.
Several instrumental parts and effects are performed live on unique electronic instruments, sequences are triggered real-time over custom show mixes, while synchronized video projection and laser complete the show aesthetics.
Studio CS is the birthplace of the deep, characteristic sound of every forgotten future track. Featuring a wide range of electronic musical instruments and effects, the arsenal includes vintage analog synths, hybrid digital machines, cutting-edge plugins and custom-built tools. Probably no synth gets as much use as a digital field recorder, though.

"Forgotten Future is detailed work. You might feel like you need a doctorate in philosophy and physics to understand Dobos’ Forgotten Future. Many of the concepts find him questioning culture, religion and science, including Darwinism. Julius Dobos has the kind of musical chops that can bring a concept like this to life."
- John Diliberto, Host & Producer of Echoes

forgotten future: W1 is the first piece of a 4-album concept series, the framework for the musical, ideological and philosophical endeavor that takes the listener through Universal themes centered around four of the "big questions".
forgotten future: W1 is a story of a journey - one of multiversal scale, beyond the boundaries of time and through new dimensions. It is about the journey we all take one day. We are frightened of the unknown, yet it feels so familiar... it feels like we have been in this environment before...
It's a curious and humbling experience, a galactic travel on a forgotten road that takes us to a mysterious destination, which road seems like... we must have traveled it before. And while we feel completely lost, anxious and painfully lonely out there in the vast Universe, we are ecstatic about the journey through the unimaginable, about witnessing the answers to some of the ultimate questions, and at the end, realizing that the experience was not the first one, indeed.
But, returning from our voyage, we only bring the distant memories of feelings with us... forgetting the experience – which we will re-live again in the future.
